plans of mice and men

This pallet of colors is my florist garden in my front yard. I spent the past winter planning this out on an excel spreadsheet. They are arranged as if you were mixing paints on a pallet, every color relating to the one next to it. I am taking pictures of the real thing tonight while it is in full bloom. A few squares did not come up, but considering there are 90 different varieties I am not complaining. Posting soon...

Red Blossom Tea Company

This is a gift from my wonderful friend Angela. She travels all around the world learning about tea... literally! Whenever I talk to her she tells me about the latest tea conference she has been to. The latest one was in Las Vegas where she met the head of beverage chemistry for Snapple. My favorite in this batch was the 'Wen Shan Pouchong, N. Taiwan' Oolong... Amazing! It tasted like drinking a lily!

The bag the teas were in is from an amazing company - Red Blossom Tea

love at first sight!

Meet the new addition! I found this a local
vintage shop for $12 !! Anything that makes
pea-pods a fashion accessory  is amazing!

I have done a lot of internet research on this
designer... no sign of Mr. Norman or any country
with abbreviations of R.P..... Any ideas? Anyone?

Now to find an outfit to match...

ATC's!

I really wish I could have started this trend... but sadly I was in the second grade. Amazing Idea! I have always wanted to send part of an art piece to someone and have them finish/add on to it. Like how ‘Postal Service’ made their music. Here to find out the mail art revolution exists! Life rocks… and this is ‘Pug Reflection’

Sent. I am so happy she loves it!!

Summer afternoons!

I sell flowers to a local organic market... Here is an order for ten bouquets! They are fertilized with dried seaweed, liquid fish, and bio-humus. That does not include all of the soil amending, which is really the most important part. I love zinnias! Pictures of my cutting garden soon to come.

Me! I am arranging bouquets.

I love my bug

This is the first car I learned to drive. There is no other feeling like flying down the road in a VW Bug with the top down on a gorgeous summer day! This car is manual and I learned how to drive it from my dad. He brought me to the center of the most dangerous four-lane intersection around, stopped the car and got out. When you are put under that type of pressure you figure it out real fast. I love everything about this car, but it is time for a paint job…. More picture to follow.

This picture reminds me of an Anime where a random cat walks through the scene

Getting her first paint job since the original Autobahn Yellow from the factory

Not just any V.W., this is a Karmann Super Beetle

Grow Kids, Grow

Phaedra's First Garden

This is Phaedra, Joseph's wonderful niece. She has such an adventurous heart, she reminds me of myself. She would come over and help us with our garden all the time. This year we decided to get her a plot at a local community garden. She calls it her 'Secret Garden'.

Phaedra has the most silly bands of anyone I know!

She gave me her "Y" silly band

This is Phaedra's garden journal. I made it out of a plain
composition notebook and some scrapbooking paper. I do not
like scrapbooking, but I looove scrapboking supplies!
Glue and Glitter can work wonders!

Close up of a doodle

I printed these out from a state extension program website.

She can see what hardiness zone we are in by this chart.

I love these boots! We are planning on putting ones like these in her garden :o)

Tools

My favorite - how to read a seed packet!

The back of her journal

This is Phaedra's garden plot! She has just transplanted pumpkins (that is why they look so droopy). She is only one week into it and her radishes have already sprouted!

Phaedra brought her sister Sheyenne to help out. Sheyenne is just as awesome as her sister, they were so good we went out for ice cream!

A sweet end to a sweet day! Since this picture was taken the garden has grown a lot! Updates shortly :o)
